Alice M. (Schultz) O'Brien

Alice M. O’Brien, 84, formerly of Ohio, Illinois, died Friday, July 2, 2021 at Liberty Village of Princeton.

Alice was born on April 12, 1937 in Ohio, IL, the daughter of Orville and Katherine (Sharkey) Schultz. She married William F. O’Brien on January 17, 1959 in Ohio, IL. He preceded her in death on January 31, 2015. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio, IL and was the head of CCD education there for several years. Alice was an amazing baker and known for her cakes, pies and especially her cinnamon rolls. She loved children and ran an in home day care for over 35 years. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she cherished the time she spent with her family.

Survivors include three daughters, Penny (Rick) Farringer of Lee Center, IL, Vickie O’Brien of Walnut, and Brenda (Jeff) Monier of Walnut; three sons, Dennis (Tina) O’Brien of Ohio, Scott (Tera) O’Brien of Cumming, GA, and Craig (Andrea) O’Brien of Flora, IN; one sister, Pat McDonald of Ohio; eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, Brittany (Allen) Sledgister and their two children, Sophia and Olivia, Zachary O’Brien, Samantha O’Brien, Eric (Haley) Farringer and their two children, Lilah and Myah, Michael Farringer, Fr. Andru O’Brien, Megan O’Brien, Abigayle O’Brien, David Dzurisin, Danielle (Chris) Dzurisin and their three children, Zayne, Xavier and Rowan, Delaney Dzurisin, Allison O’Brien, Mallory O’Brien, William O’Brien, Thomas (Lindsay) Monier, Francis Monier, Joshua Monier and Katherine Monier.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Francis O’Brien; and one sister, Mary Sondergroth.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio with the Rosary recited at 10:45 A.M. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M. with the Reverend Thomas Shaw and Reverend Andru O’Brien Con-Celebrating. Burial will conclude at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial is established.
