Amanda Kay Tompkins-Petryshyn

            Amanda Kay Tompkins-Petryshyn, age 39, of Walnut, died Saturday, January 16, 2021 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

            Amanda was born April 10, 1981 in Dixon the daughter of Randy and Pam (Nevenhoven) Tompkins.  She married Clayton Petryshyn on September 15, 2015 on a beach in North Carolina.  She was presently employed at Northern Illinois Home Medical Supply in Sterling.  Amanda had a hobby farm and loved her animals.  She enjoyed family vacations, being outdoors and spending time sitting by the fire while reading books. She was also an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

            She is survived by her husband; her parents; four children, Quintin Scott and Madison Scott both of Walnut and Tyler Petryshyn and Elizabeth Petryshyn both of Vandalia; two sisters, Amy (Michael) Williams of Va. and Kati (Rudy) Garcia of Waukesha, Wis.; six nieces and nephews, David (Ali) Hennessey of Va., Elaine (Jared) House of Wis., Aric Hennessey of Va., Austin House of Wis., Anthony (Hannah) Garcia of Wis. and Brandon (Mellissa) Garcia of Wis.; four great nieces and nephews, Lucas, Wyatt, Jackson and Eloise; and her mother and father-in-law, Jon and Linda Petryshyn of Tenn.

            She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ellis and Betty Tompkins; her maternal grandparents, Quintin and Darlene Nevenhoven and George Jacobs; one aunt, Jody Nevenhoven; and one uncle, Terry Tompkins.

            A gathering of family and friends, for a maximum of 25 people at a time, will be Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.

            In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Amanda’s children.

            Amanda’s family would like to thank all the staff at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center for their care, as well as the Gift of Hope which handled her organ donation.
