Arlene M. Kerkhove, age 87, of Prophetstown, Illinois died Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. Arlene was born on April 11, 1928, the daughter of Fred and Myldred (McCaslin) Coers. She was united in marriage to Walter Kerkhove on April 16, 1950 in Rock Falls, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1975. She was an Avon saleswoman for over 60 years. She was a member of the Tampico United Methodist Church and the Wa Tan Ya Club. She is survived by one son Arlyn Kerkhove of Prophetstown, Illinois; one daughter Rita (Eddie) Munz of Tampico, Illinois; two grandchildren Scott and Amy Meier, four greatgrandchildren Bradley Meier, Michael Jackley, Ruby Anne Jackley, and Lucas Meier; two brothers Russell (Josephine) Coers of Tampico,Illinois, Earl John (Pat) Coers of Deer Grove,Illinois and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by parents, husband, one grandson Bradley Meier, and two brothers Harold and Francis Coers. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico with the Rev. Leanne Keate, pastor of Tampico United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. A memorial has been established in her memory.
