Arlyn Paul Kerkhove, 71, of rural Tampico, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022.


Arlyn was born on March 2, 1951, the son of Walter and Arlene (Coers) Kerkhove. Arlyn was a diesel mechanic, a farmer, and raised livestock. He always had a book in his hand and baby sheep following him around, which he named every one of them. Arlyn was always willing to lend a hand to help a neighbor.


He is survived by one sister, Rita (Ed) Munz; one nephew, Scott (Lisa) Meier; one niece, Amy (Doug) Meier; three great nephews, Bradley Meier, Michael Jackley, and Lucas Meier; two great nieces, Rubyanne Jackley and Kristana Shirley.


Arlyn was preceded in death by his parents; his nephew, Bradley R. Meier; as well as, aunts, uncles, and cousins.


Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Reverend Leanne Keate officiating. Burial will conclude at Tampico Memorial Cemetery.


A memorial will be established in his memory.
