Bailey Douglas Broers

Bailey Douglas Broers, 16 of rural Walnut died Thursday July 15, 2021 at Perry Memorial Hospital of injuries sustained in an accident.

Bailey was born on November 30, 2004 in Sterling the son of David and Amanda (Schier) Broers. He was a junior at Bureau Valley High School and a member of the FFA; a member of the Illinois Milking Shorthorn Association; and a member of the Illinois Ayrshire Association. Bailey had worked and helped out on the family farm and at MJ Seed Co.

Survivors include his father, David Broers of Walnut; his mother Amanda Broers (Pete Johnson) of New Bedford; his sisters: Brianna Broers, Leigha Johnson and Danielle Morris all of New Bedford; his brother Logan Johnson of New Bedford; paternal grandparents, Doug (Linda) Broers of Tampico; maternal grandmother Kathy (Dennis) Chasteen of Sheffield; maternal great grandfather Orville Schaeffer of Amboy; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Darwin Schier; maternal great grandmother Mary Schaefer; paternal great grandparents Vern (Vernalee) Broers.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 4-7 PM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. The funeral will follow on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 10 AM at Bureau Valley High School with the Reverend Eldon Cook officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to the Bureau Valley FFA or St. Jude Children Research Hospital
