Benjamin R. Howes, age 32, of Bettendorf, IA, died Friday, February 2, 2024 at his home.
Benjamin was born February 5, 1991 in Princeton, the son of Bob and Carol (Jacobs) Howes. He married Sarah Cannon on February 9, 2019 in Bettendorf. Benjamin was a 2014 graduate of St. Ambrose and was employed at John Deere. He loved music, dirt bikes, playing the drums, and watching the Steelers and Lakers. He loved spending time at his family cabin in Wisconsin.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Howes of Bettendorf, IA; his parents, Bob and Carol Howes of Walnut; two sisters, Abbey (Jeramy VanLanduit) Howes of Tampico and Sarah Howes of Wyanet; one brother, Beau (Nicole) Howes of Holly Ridge, NC; maternal grandmother, Marjorie Jacobs of Walnut; and his paternal grandparents, Doug (Mary) Hansen of Walnut and Tom Howes of Bradford.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Albert Jacobs; his aunt, Ruth Howes-Palacios; and his good friend, Johnny Pogliano.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. A graveside service will be on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Walnut Cemetery with Reverend Philip Fischaber officiating.
A memorial has been established.
