On September 13, 2023, Betty Elaine Dimmig Renner, passed peacefully in her home at the age of 96.
Betty was born on April 15, 1927 in Peoria, the daughter of Chris and Emma Dimmig. She married H. Dale Renner on November 13, 1949 in Walnut. He preceded her in death in November of 1988. Together they had 7 kids, Dennis (Pam) Renner, Steven (Marilyn) Renner, Terry (Becky) Renner, Tim (Heidi) Renner (deceased), Tom (Susan) Renner, David Renner, and Julie Renner Estrada. She also had 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren, 2 great great great grandchildren, and 7 step grandchildren.
Betty was a hardworking, talented, compassionate person. Her family was her #1 priority, and they kept her young. Betty was always ready for anything; her hair, makeup done, and dressed to the nines. She loved to cook and was quick to whip up a batch of chicken and noodles, sugar cookies or a coffee cake for a new neighbor, funeral luncheon, or any other occasion. She was crafty, sewing bowl koozies or net balls to keep herself busy. She was an experienced seamstress and had a side hustle sewing for people. An avid Chicago sports team’s fan she loved to watch every and all games she could. A lifelong member of Walnut United Methodist Church, she was very dedicated and loyal to the congregation. Married there, she enjoyed the choir and all friendships established at the church. She had maintained many friendships that she kept up to date with cards and newsletters.
Per Betty’s wishes there will be no services such as visitation, she will be cremated and laid to rest in Walnut cemetery surrounded by immediate family. Please remember her as the quick humored, lovely, beautiful lady she was. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Betty Renner at 308 Red Oak Rd, PO BOX 501, Walnut IL 61376.
