Beverly J. Berogan, 85 of Walnut died Saturday August 12, 2017 at Heritage Health of Walnut.
She was born on January 10, 1932 in Walnut, the daughter of S. Russell and Pearl (Strouss) Weller. She was united in marriage on June 25, 1950 to William Levi Berogan. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1994. Beverly had worked as the head cook at Walnut Grade School retiring after 27 years. She had managed the Walnut Senior Citizens building and was a coordinator for several years for the bingo and card playing. She loved to cook, her gardening, flowers, play bingo, play cards and fishing. She was a member of the Walnut United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Russell (Vickie) Berogan of Walnut; her son-in-law Donald Rice of Dixon; brother-in-laws: Donald (Chris) Berogan and Melvin Berogan and sister-in-law Harriet Moore; 9 grandchildren: Paige Berogan, Billie Jo Ristau, Brad Free, Brandon Rice, Jacob Rice, Brittany Rice, Regan Rice, Ryver Rice and Rayne Rice; 1 step grandchild Donnie Rice; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Levi; daughter Nyla Rice; son Terry in infancy; her sisters: Evelyn Leech and Louise Weller; her parents and grand parents.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 16, 2017 from 9 - 11 AM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. The funeral will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home with the Reverend Mark Harkness, officiating. Burial will conclude at the Walnut Cemetery. A memorial will be established in her memory.
