Obituary
PEKIN – Carol A. Eckberg, age 84, formerly of Walnut, died Friday, December 30, 2022, at TimberCreek Nursing Home in Pekin.
Carol was born on December 24, 1938, in Streator, the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Doerr) Adams. She married Darell L. Eckberg on June 25, 1966, in Streator. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1998. Carol was a homemaker, church secretary and member of St. John's Catholic Church in Walnut serving on their Altar and Rosary Society. She was known for her sweet and quiet nature and beautiful smile. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching old movies, going shopping and her cat, Riley.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Eckberg of Pekin and one brother, John (Julie) Adams of Bemidji, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kevin Eckberg and one brother, Don Adams.
Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 5, 2022, at St. John's Catholic Church in Walnut. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Thomas Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Cemetery in Walnut.
In lieu of flowers memorials have been established to St. John's Catholic Church and Walnut Rescue Unit.
