Carol Ann Gunberg

Carol A. Gunberg, was born on September 26, 1937 in Chicago and returned peacefully to her heavenly home on February 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born the daughter of Richard and Ann (Boorman) Vaughn. She married Robert Lee Gunberg on May 29, 1958 in Morgan Park, IL. Carol was a teacher for over 30 years having taught in schools in Portage, Kalamazoo and Canton Michigan.  She found joy in her family, especially the great grandchildren and had a warm and gentle giving heart. She was a member of Bureau Twp. Church and the First Christian Church in Princeton. Carol was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and of the Light House Keepers in Michigan.  She served as a Director on the Board of Western Illinois Council on Aging. She had worked as a volunteer for the Bureau County Senior Center and Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; daughter Barbara (John) Metzger of Princeton; son, Robert (Katrina) Gunberg of Ypsilanti, MI; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter and one brother.

Visitation will be Thursday February 19, 2026 from 1-2 PM at the Walnut Christian Church, with the funeral to follow at 2 PM.  Arrangements entrusted to Garland Funeral Home, Walnut

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed for charitable distribution by the family.
