Carolyn Idell Kuehl, 87 of Walnut, died Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Allure of Walnut.
Carolyn was born on May 5, 1938 in Princeton, the daughter of Raymond and Orpha (Gallentine) Monson. She graduated from Walnut High School in 1956. She married Charles “Buzz” Kuehl on September 17, 1967. Carolyn enjoyed her time working as a private contractor for Home Interior and Gifts, she did that for over 22 years. She was a very talented cake decorator and made cakes for several different occasions. Her favorite past times were traveling, bowling, and dancing, especially, Polka and 2 Step. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and hosting family gatherings. Carolyn was a life long member of the First Christian Church in Walnut.
Survivors include her husband, Charles “Buzz”; her children, Gary Carter, Terry (Michelle) Carter, Sheri Rhodes, Tammy (Kevin) Scott, Gregory (Cathe) Carter, and Lori (Daryl) Brown; 24 grandchildren, Cassie (Brian) Keefe, Justin (Brooke) Carter, Ashley (Jake) Cantrell, Logan (Kristen) Carter, Raymond “Nick” Campos, Steven Carter, Mindy Spencer, Megan (Fabian Mendoza) Carter, Annika Carter, Alicia Avelar, Angela (Joshua) Beaumont, Amber (Patrick) Chasco, Anthony (Kelcie) Avelar, Jr, Adam (Rachael) Avelar, Aaron Avelar, Dillon Rhodes, Stephanie (Anthony) Ray, Kevin “Joe” (Danielle) Scott, Melissa Carter, Zach (Marjorie) Carter, Austin Carter, Haley (Sami) Amenu, Sebastien Brown, Holly Brown, and Andrew Brown; 16 great grandchildren, Bodhi Keefe, Kai Keefe, Finn Carter, Brynnlee Wrye, Zoey Spencer, Vivi Spencer, Isaiah Mendoza, Alexis Mendoza, Idell Beaumont, Mateo Chasco, Sofia Chasco, Chandler Weber, Anthony Avelar III, Quinn Scott, Colby Carter, and Holden Carter; and special mention, Tony Avelar and Wendy Carpenter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, James Monson, and a grandson, Joshua Michael Carter.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025 from Noon to 1:30 at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Wilson officiating. Burial will conclude at Walnut Cemetery. Luncheon will follow at the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her memory to the First Christian Church in Walnut or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
