Charles Henry Meisenheimer, 77, of Walnut, IL went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 3, 2021 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling, IL.
Charles was born at home on October 29, 1943 to Loyal and Marjorie (Wirth) Meisenheimer. He lived on the family farm his entire life. He married Shirley Haas on August 18, 1968 and they had 3 daughters.
He was active at his church, Bureau Township Community Church, for many years as a youth leader, Sunday School teacher, and Treasurer. He served his community in many ways. He served on several school boards, Corn Belt Energy, Clear Talk, and Bureau County Farm Bureau, among others.
He retired from farming in 2008 after working on the family farm for many years. His hobbies included: amateur ham radio operator (WA9RRB), flying a Cessna, and hunting.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Shirley of Walnut, IL; 3 daughters: Joy (Roger) Willstead of Manlius, IL, D’Ann Meisenheimer of Downers Grove, IL and Michelle (Nathan) Meeks of Port Washington, WI; 4 grandchildren: Tad Meisenheimer, Micah Meeks, Claire Meeks, and Eli Meeks; 2 great grand-daughters: Ali Meisenheimer and Rori Meisenheimer; and many nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers (Lester, Jay and Fred), and one sister JoAnn.
Visitation will be held at Garland Funeral Home in Walnut on Friday, October 8th from 4-8pm.
Celebration of Life will be held at Bureau Township Community Church in rural Princeton on Saturday, October 9th at 10am. Burial will follow at Walnut Cemetery.
