Charles Swanson

Charles Swanson, 85 formerly of Ohio, died Saturday December 7, 2024 at Allure of Mendota.

He was born on February 18, 1939 in Altona, IL the son of Walter and Edith Swanson. He married Donna Mae Walker on March 26, 1960 in Ohio. She died April 28, 2022. Charles had worked at Spartan Tool in Mendota for over 50 years before retiring. He also worked for the Village of Ohio.

Survivors include two sons: Jim (Diana) Kinnamon of Dwight and Robert (Linda) Swanson of Mendota; three grandchildren: Brandon Swanson, Angela Rodrick and Erika Treest; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Charles Jr; two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held on Sunday December 15, 2024, from 11:30 – 1:00 PM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. The funeral will follow at 1 PM. Burial will conclude at Union Cemetery in Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Cemetery, Ohio.
