Conrad J. Knuth

Conrad Joseph Knuth, age 73, of Princeton, formerly of Ohio, died on Monday, July 10, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Conrad was born on October 23, 1949 in Princeton, the son of Conrad and Hilda (Montavon) Knuth. He graduated from Chicago Kent School of Law in 1978 and practiced law in Princeton and Ohio for 35 years. He dedicated his professional life to advising and advocating for people in difficult situations, even well after he retired. Conrad was a nature lover. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, and watching wildlife. He loved all animals, but was especially fond of dogs, and was often seen with his faithful hound, Molly (dec. 2012), at his side. Those closest to him will especially miss his cooking and his extensive knowledge of history and the Knuth family tree.

He is survived by three children, Judith (Leon) Flores of Alamogordo, NM, Sarah (Fritz) Foss of Skokie, IL and David (Stephanie) Knuth of Mildenhall, UK; two sisters, Antoinette Tokarski of Petaluma, CA and Mary Adele LaFrenz of San Francisco, CA; six grandchildren, Cecilia, Jakob, August, Josephine, Christian, and Sylvia; and his dear friend and companion, Uylaine Barringer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Abigail in infancy; one sister, Theresa in infancy; one daughter-in-law, Mary Jackson-Knuth; and two brothers-in-law, Jack Tokarski and Wayne LaFrenz.

A private burial will be held at Red Oak Cemetery in Walnut at a later date.
