Ohio, Illinois David L. McDonald, age 80 of Ohio, Illinois died Friday, December 4, 2015 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Dave was born September 12, 1935 in Princeton, Illinois the son of Howard I. and Edwardine McDonald. He was united in marriage to Patty Schultz on January 3, 1959 in Ohio, Illinois. Dave owned and operated McDonald Trucking for many years. He was the road commissioner for Ohio Township and a member of the Ohio Fire Department and the Ohio School Board. Dave was a trustee of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Citizens First State Bank of Walnut. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards. He is survived by his wife, Patty of Ohio; 3 sons: Mark (Angie) McDonald of Ohio, Bill (Janis) McDonald of Walnut, Illinois and Joe (Jan) McDonald of Ohio; 1 daughter, Maureen McDonald of Chicago, Illinois; 8 grandchildren: Matt, Anna, Cole McDonald, Sarah, Melissa (Alex Karrow), Olivia McDonald, Kaycee and Darren McDonald and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Louise Gorman. Funeral prayer services will be conducted on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 9:30am at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio, with Rev. Thomas Shaw, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery in Ohio. Visitation will be Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 3:00- 7:00pm at the Garland Funeral Home with Rosary recited at 7:00pm. A memorial has been established in his memory.
