Diana L. Braasch

            Diana L. Braasch, age 76, of Tampico, died Monday, September 13, 2021 at her home.

            Diana was born January 2, 1945 in Tampico the daughter of Edward and Henrietta (Bruder) Taets.  She married Kenneth Braasch on October 3, 1964 in Tampico.  Diana was a homemaker, an in-home care worker and was a cook at the Dutch Diner.  She was an active member at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tampico where she was involved in the Altar and Rosary Society and served many funeral dinners.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending all of their activities.  Diana also enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, going to the casino and spending time with her friends.

            She is survived by her husband, Ken Braasch of Tampico; three children, Kevin Braasch of Springfield, Steve Braasch of Tampico and Kristina (Jake) Jacobs of Walnut; seven grandchildren, Matthew Braasch, Courtney (Grant Goltz) Braasch, Kody (Jehna Thomas) Church, Nicole Braasch, Tyler Braasch, Kolton (Lexi Ryan) Church and Alex Braasch; two step grandchildren, Jaimie (Ryan) Rosenthal and Jessica (Harvey) Blumhorst; one step great granddaughter, Reese Rosenthal; one sister, Dawn Cooney of Naperville; two brothers, John (Linda) Taets of Tampico and Richard (Bernadette) Taets of Sterling; special niece, Melodie (Tom) Fritsch of Tampico; and several other nieces and nephews.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Lisa in infancy; one sister, Delores Hamblock; and one brother, Jim Taets.

            Visitation will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico.  Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tampico with Monsignor Gerald Kobbeman officiating.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tampico.

            In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
