Dolores E. (Ericson) Teske

Dolores Elaine (Ericson) Teske age 91 passed December 21, 2024 at Allure of Walnut, Walnut, IL.

Dolores was born September 16, 1933 in Galva, Illinois, the daughter of Cedric and Edith (Appenheimer) Ericson and grew up on a farm south of Wyanet.  She attended a one room school south of Wyanet through grade 8 and graduated from Wyanet High School in 1951.  She married Orville Teske on February 8, 1953, at the Congregational Church of Wyanet.  He preceded her in death on October 3, 1994.  Together they had 3 children, Ronald, Randal and Kristine.  She worked as a bus driver for the Manlius School District, was the church secretary at Trinity Lutheran Church for many years and worked as a Medical Assistant for Doctor Edwin Mullin in Manlius for 25 years.  Having been raised on the farm, farming was in her blood, and she liked talking and hearing about farming and how it was done now and in the past.  She and her husband had several antique tractors which they had restored.  She was proud of the antique John Deere she donated to the Bureau Valley FFA which they restored and John Deere requested to display in their showroom in Moline.  She was also active in the church, Manlius Town Board and the Manlius Historical Society.  She loved the history of the First State Bank of Manlius and being a part of the bank renovation which the Historical Society has labored to restore back to original.

Dolores is survived by 2 sons, Ronald (Shelly) of Wyanet and Randal (Linda) of Rockford; 9 grandchildren, Andrea (Steve) Guy, Matthew (Ashleigh) Stone, Aaron (Brittany) Teske, Brandon (Lauren Eckberg) Teske, Colton (Jen) Teske, Eric (Tabitha) Behrens, Kari (Eric) Murphy, Kelly (Mike Poe) Teske and Meghan Teske; 14 great-grandchildren and 3 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Kristine and her husband Tom Stone, a niece.and a nephew.

A special thanks to the staff at Allure of Walnut for their extraordinary care and compassion to Dolores.  The facility and staff are truly an asset to the people of Walnut and surrounding area.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 28 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Manlius.  The funeral will follow at 2:00 pm with Lori and Jeff Whalen officiating.  Burial at the Manlius Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Manlius Historical Society and Trinity Lutheran Church of Manlius.
