WALNUT - Donna Jean Goodale, age 90, passed away peacefully Sunday June 26, 2016 at Heritage Health Nursing Home, Walnut surrounded by her family and wonderful caregivers. Donna was born on July 15, 1925 in Kewanee the daughter of William and Lenora (Kolberg) Gutschlag. She was united in marriage to James M. Goodale on May 18, 1947 in Kewanwee. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2007. She worked as a secretary until she married Jim. She was a member of Walnut United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. Donna was an avid golfer and played at the Green River Country Club where she was a member. She enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren the game. Donna loved to dance and enjoyed the outdoors. She enjoyed reading , crewel and doing ceramics. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandma. Survivors include two sons, Marty (Faye Jankovich) J. Goodale of Sun Lake, Ariz. and Jamie (Debbie) Goodale of Crystal Lake; two daughters, Christine (Rick) Norris of Moline and Katherine (Paul) Von Holten of Bristol; one sister, Elaine Kelm of Sheffield; one brother, William Gutschlag of Cathedral City, Calif.; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Robert A. Gutschlag. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 5-7:00 pm at the Garland Funeral Home, Walnut. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the funeral home with Reverend Mark Harkness of Walnut Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Kewanee. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Walnut Fire Department and Walnut United Methodist Church.
