Donna Thacker, age 72, of Walnut, Illinois died Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Donna was born on December 31, 1943 in Red Bud, Illinois the daughter of Eugene and Alma (Welten) Heller . She was united in marriage to Michael P. Thacker on June 24, 1967 in Decatur, Illinois. Donna was a member of the Walnut United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed playing golf, loved to cook and Longaberger Baskets. She is survived by her husband Michael Thacker of Walnut, IL; one son Michael A.(Sherri) Thacker of Walnut, IL; one daughter Heather (Patrick Oldfield) Thacker of Ohio, Illinois; one daughter in law Donna Rosenthal of Buda, Illinois; four grandchildren Ella Thacker, Ryan (Jaimie) Rosenthal, Kylee (Adam) Gutshall, Tyler (Erin) Rosenthal; four great grandchildren Reese, Noah, Leena, and Cora; two brothers Jerry (Rhonda) Heller, John (Annette) Heller; one sister Marcy Lewis; special cousin Rose (Irv) Cartwright; and several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son Todd Buzzard. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, with Rev Eldon Cook, pastor of the Walnut Community Bible Church in Walnut, officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Garland Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
