Douglas Raymond "DJ" Dorathy

Douglas Raymond “DJ” Dorathy, 16 of Tampico died Thursday March 28, 2024.

He was born on December 14, 2007 in Sterling the son of Douglas Raymond and Chasity (Lawson) Dorathy Sr. He was a sophomore at Prophetstown High School. DJ played football for Erie Prophetstown Panthers and summer town baseball. He enjoyed fishing, drag racing, gaming and hanging out with his friends. DJ was a diehard Chicago Bear fan and love Notre Dame.

Survivors include his parents, Doug and Chasity; his sisters: Payton Dorathy and Morgan Dorathy; paternal grandparents Deb Dorathy and Pat Dorathy; paternal great grandmother Shirley Dorathy; aunts: Stephanie (Bryan) Johnson and Amber Dorathy; several cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ron & Diane Lawson; paternal great grandparents: Gene Dorathy and Gail and Dorothy Etheridge.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 2, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. Graveside service will follow on Wednesday at 11 AM at St. Mary Cemetery, Tampico.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
