Elaine R. Hewitt

            MANLIUS – Elaine R. Hewitt, age 92, died Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Liberty Village in Princeton.

            Elaine was born on April 18, 1929 in New Bedford the daughter of Claude and Cecile (Robbibs) Nelson.  She married Clayton Hewitt on June 19, 1949 in New Bedford. He died on October 19, 2020.  Elaine was employed as a Nurse for several years and also worked at the former Kraft Foods in Manlius. She was an avid gardener and painter.  Elaine was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Manlius.

            Survivors include one daughter, Lori Owen of Manlius; one son, Rob (Kelli) Hewitt of Manlius; one sister, Karen Nelson of Streator; one brother, Michael Nelson of Tenn.; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, three brothers.

            Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the Manlius Cemetery with Vicar Ryan Mackey of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Arrangements were completed by the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.

            In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Trinity Lutheran Church and Manlius Cemetery.
