Eugene Kenneth Lehn, age 87, of Ohio, IL died peacefully on November 20, 2016 surrounded by his family at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, IL. Gene was born on January 8 , 1929 in Humphrey, Nebraska, the son of Herman and Maude (Reineccius) Lehn. He graduated from Hall Township High School in 1947, attended LPO Jr. College and graduated from Illinois State University. After graduation he enlisted in the Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Wright on June 4, 1954 in Hollowayville, IL. Gene taught and coached in the Ohio School system for 30 years. He was a volunteer fireman, scoutmaster, and little league coach for many years. He was a member of the Ohio United Methodist Church and the Red Cross. Gene loved to garden and was an avid Cubs fan who had his dream come true by witnessing the Cubs win the 2016 World Series. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Lehn of Ohio, IL; one son Terry (Marlene) Lehn of Ohio, IL; three daughters Sharon Quest and fiance Dale Hasse of Quakertown, PA; Barb (Paul) Narez of Arnold, MO; Carla (Mark) Shewmon of Poplar Grove, IL; eight grandchildren Aaron (Megan) Lehn, Adam Quest, Danielle Shewmon, Brittany (Andy) Austin, Dan (Ana) DeBrock, Jenna (Ben Pitchford) Quest, Dion (Cynthia) Narez, and Sara DeBrock; seven great grandchildren; one brother Robert (Marge) Lehn of Seatonville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Oakley Lehn, and one grandson Nick Narez. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday November 25, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the Rev. Judy Geise pastor of the Red Oak United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date. A memorial has been established to Red Oak United Methodist Church.
