OHIO- Gary Massino, age 73, died at his home Monday, January 15, 2018. Gary was born on March 23, 1945 in Streator, the son of Frank and Sandrina (Carrera) Massino. He married Sally Kuehl on August 13, 1966 in Toluca. Gary played basketball and baseball in high school, striking out 19 batters in 7 innings against Peoria Manual High School. He played baseball for a minor league team in Champagne. Gary was an avid golfer in later years, having had 2 holes in one. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp Air Wing from 1966-1968 where he received a Meritorious Mast for flexibility and desire to excel under mounting responsibilities and difficulty. Survivors include: his wife Sally Massino of Ohio; one son, Scott Massino of Ohio; four brothers, Chester (Yvonne) Massino of Toluca, Joseph (JoAnn) Massino of Hennepin, Lawrence (Sally) Massino of Villa Park and Frank J. (Sarah) Massino of Morro Bay, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters; 1 brother. Gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM with Reverend Thomas Shaw officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
