Gene Boughton

Gene Boughton, age 95, of Walnut, died Friday, November 22, 2024 at his home.

          Gene was born December 26, 1928 in Stronghurst, IL, the son of George and Pearl (Evans) Boughton.  He married Sharon Thompson on June 28, 1980 in Rock Island, IL.  Gene was employed as a boiler maker for Local 60 for 58 years retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

          He is survived by his wife, Sharon Boughton of Walnut; two daughters, Alicia (Gerald) Johnson of Neponset, IL and Nora (Larry) Yingling of Polo, IL; one son, James Boughton of Bradford, IL; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

          He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, and one sister.

          A memorial service will be held at a later date.
