George G. Reuter

George Reuter, 84, of Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center.

He worked as a self-employed farmer and owner operator of Reuter’s Trucking.  George enjoyed camping with his family & taking his camper out to Arizona during the winter months. George was very proud of owning his own farm and was very social in the community.  His sense of humor and “driveway talks” will surely be missed by all.

George was born, November 15, 1936, the son of Paul and Ruth (Forman) Reuter in Amboy. He married Patricia Roegner on April 15, 1961.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Pat Reuter; two children, Son, Jeff (Patti) Reuter of Machesney Park, IL, Daughter, Susan (Joe) Donnelly of Ohio, IL, brother Tom ( Ann) Reuter of Sterling IL, sister Florence Hichborn of Bettendorf IA, Sister in Law Carolyn Reuter of Sterling IL, four grandchildren; Bob (Julia) Hochstein, Kristi Ransom, Ashley Donnelly & Diana Donnelly; four great-grandchildren, Jermaine & Jaxsun Ransom, Lorelei & Jonah Hochstein.

George was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bill.

Visitation will be Monday, August 23, 2021 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the funeral following at 10:00 AM with Reverend Thomas Shaw officiating.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ohio.

Per the family’s request, masks must be worn to enter the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
