Gladys McKenzie

 Gladys McKenzie, age 96, of Walnut, Illinois died Sunday August 23, 2015 at Heritage Health Care in Walnut.

Gladys was born on August 9, 1919 in Spring Valley, Illinois the daughter of James and Gertrude (Guenther) Dwyre.  She was united in marriage to John McKenzie on February 24, 1953 in Spring Valley, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on October 28, 2006.  She was an organist at First Congregation Church in Spring Valley, played in the Walnut Kitchen Band years ago, was choir leader at First Christian Church of Walnut.  She was a member of the First Christian Church of Walnut and the CFW at  the church and the Order of the Eastern Star of Princeton.

There are no immediate survivors.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday August 26^th at 10:30 a.m. at the Yorktown Cemetery in Tampico, Illinois with the Rev. Brian Moore, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating.  Garland Funeral Home of Walnut is in charge of arrangements.  A memorial has been established to Heritage Health Care in Walnut.  Condolences may be sent to: www.garlandfuneralhome.com
