PEORIA – Gloria M. Kreider, age 82, formerly of Ohio, IL, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

 Gloria was born on September 10, 1943, in Walnut, the daughter of Edward and Hazel (Stocking) Lauritzen. She married Clayton Kreider on November 27, 1968, in Sycamore. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1999. Gloria was a member of Ohio Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, bingo, and watching old westerns. Her most enjoyable times were with her grandchildren and great-grandson. Gloria worked many years and retired from Office Max.

 She is survived by her daughter, Laura (Timothy) March of Ohio, and two sons, Brad (Katie) Mathey of Mosinee, WI, and Jeffrey Kreider (Janiece Lane) of Plano; two brothers, Glenn (Deb) Lauritzen of Peoria and Roger (Diane) Lauritzen of Rockford; two grandchildren, Chelsie March and Chase Mathey; one great-grandson, Camden Bertuli; and three stepchildren, Kathy, Dusty, and Mike; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Eugene Lauritzen; one sister-in-law, Mary Lauritzen; one nephew, Michael Lauritzen; one stepson, Allen Kreider; and Janiece Lane.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 5:00–7:00 PM Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Ashton Cemetery in Ashton, IL.
