Harold W. Graff, age 85 of Dover, Ill, died Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Liberty Village in Princeton, Ill. Harold was born on Octber 14, 1931 in Chicago, the son of Harold and Mabel (Schwieman) Graff. He married Joan Frick on September 20, 1951. He is a United States Army Veteran and served in the Korean War from 1951-1953. Harold owned and operated "Hal's 66 Service Station" and retired from Calumet City Public Works. He was a lifelong member of the Lion's Club in Calumet City and Malden and also a member of the American Legion and VFW in Calumet City. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joan; four sons, Terrance (Linda) Graff of Walnut, Ill, Scott (Karen) Graff of Grant Park, Ill, Mark (Carol) Graff of Calumet City, Ill and Norman (Cindy) Graff of Chana, Ill; one sister, Arlene Ciesielski of Chicago and sister-in-law, Judy Graff of Benton Harbor, Mich; eight grandsons, Adam (Katrina), Brandon, Justin (Amy), Mitch (Jesselyn), Derek (Casey), Christopher (Megan), Jay and Steven and seven great grandchildren, Tanner, Conner, Hayden, Hunter, Kaylie, Breanna and Addison. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ken Graff. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 3:00-8:00 P.M. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Graveside service will be on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Ill. Arrangements were handled by the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.
