Harold “Ralph” Hodges, age 72, of Edelstein, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, with his family by his side.
Ralph was born in Bakersfield, California, the son of Harold and Gloria (Hukill) Hodges. He married Pamela Neahring in 1979, and had lived in Edelstein, Illinois, for many years.
He began and operated a successful land surveying business for over 30 years, retiring in 2018. He enjoyed ham radio, flying airplanes, fishing and boating, playing the guitar and bass and listening to music, and working jigsaw puzzles with his wife. His faith in God was of utmost importance to him.
Ralph’s survivors include his wife, Pamela; his son, Michael Hodges, and Michael’s wife, Laura, of Peoria, Illinois; his sisters Jane Cagle of California and Kathy Apperson of Texas; his brother- and sister-in-law Gary and Sandy Neahring, of Dekalb, Illinois; and six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his father- and mother-in-law, Lyle and Bonnie Neahring.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 10 AM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, Illinois. Burial will conclude at Greenville-Fairfield Cemetery, New Bedford, Illinois.
