Location: Tampico
Harold O. Wetzell, age 91, of Tampico, Illinois, died Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. Harold was born December 23, 1923 in Tampico, the son of Oscar and Orient (Olds) Wetzell. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Lewis on September 5, 1948 in Rock Falls, Illinois. Harold farmed in the Tampico area in his lifetime and was a Tampico School bus driver. He was a member of the Tampico United Methodist Church, the Scottish Rite Cathedral of Moline, Illinois, the Prophetstown Masonic Lodge #293AF&AM and the Order of the Eastern Star Minerva Chapter 6. Harold was a member of the Illinois Farm Bureau, Tampico Historical Society and the Tampico School Board for many years. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Tampico; two daughters, Dorothy (Dennis) Bruder of Tampico and Patricia (Larry Gerlach) Etheridge of Tampico; two sons, Mark (Mary) Wetzell of Tampico and David Wetzell of Tampico; eleven grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and four sisters. Visitation will be held Friday, August 7, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon prior to the service at the Tampico United Methodist Church. Masonic services will take place at 12:00 noon with the funeral services to follow. Burial will take place in Tampico Memorial Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his memory.
