OHIO – Harry A. Owens, age 67, died Friday, June 12, 2026, after a short illness surrounded by family at Liberty Village in Princeton, Illinois.

            Harry was born on January 16, 1959, in Princeton, Illinois, the son of Harry and Bernice (Schindel) Owens.  He graduated from Ohio High School in 1977. Harry enjoyed reading and playing games.  He owned Owens Excavating and in the past several years worked for the Village of Ohio

            Survivors include four sisters, Nancy VanderLeest of Colona, Donna (Dan) Heffernan of Hampshire, Susan (David) Moss of Princeton, and Judy (Kirby) Marine of Coal Valley; two brothers, Jim (Patti) Owens of La Moille and Jerry Owens (Gayle Turner) of Walnut.  He is also survived by 4 nephews, 7 nieces, 6 great nephews and 7 great nieces.

            He was preceded in death by his parents.

            Visitation will be held Saturday June 20th from 10:00 –11:00 AM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dave Ross officiating.  Burial will follow at Van Orin Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
