OHIO- Helen E. Cooney, 92, of Ohio, died Friday, August 5, 2016 at Heritage Healthcare in Walnut. Born July 22, 1924 in Ohio, she was a daughter of L.D. and Elizabeth (McCormick) Etheridge. She married Paul T. Cooney on September 3, 1945 in Jacksonville. He passed away on January 24, 2006. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio. Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Carmel (Bill) Kuhlman and Paula Cooney both of Quincy; a son, Pat (Mary) Cooney of Ohio; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a son and 4 brothers. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:30 AM Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM with Reverend Thomas Shaw, officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Ohio. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to O.C.C.W.
