James R. Fahs

VAN ORIN - James R. Fahs, age 91, died Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Allure of Peru.

James was born on March 27, 1933 in Ohio the son of Louis and Louise (Fischer) Fahs.  He married Barbara Townsend on October 11, 1952 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio.  She preceded him in death November 8, 2018.  James farmed and did custom agriculture work as well as  worked for LaMoille township road district for 7 years, prior to becoming road commissioner for 20 years

Survivors include, two daughters, Debra Lorenzi of Ladd and Janet (Alan) Walker of LaMoille; two sons, Dan (Kim) Fahs and Joe (Jessie) Fahs both of LaMoille; eight grandchildren, Melissa (Jerime) Kelly, Matt (Ashley) Walker, Megan (Chris) Leffelman, Jamie (James Prusak) Lorenzi, Amy Lorenzi, Rick (Maridel) Lorenzi, Josh Fahs and Emily Fahs; fifteen great grandchildren. four great great grandchildren.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; two children in infancy; son-in-law, Mark Lorenzi.

            Cremation rites have been accorded.  Gathering of family and friends will take place from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.  Memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM   with Reverend Ron Margherio officiating.  Private inurnment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Ohio at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
