Janice L. Bacorn

Janice L. Bacorn, 78 of Walnut died Thursday September 15, 2022 at her home.

She was born on July 22, 1944 in Rockford, the daughter of Leo T. and Lydia M. (Schabacker) Ward. She graduated from Swedish American School of Nursing. She married Jerry R. Bacorn on July 17, 1965 in Monroe Center. Janice worked as a dedicated registered nurse at Walnut Manor Nursing Home for 38 years. She had attended Red Oak United Methodist Church and was a member of the Princeton Family Moose and of a knitting club. Janice was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling to Colorado.

Survivors include her husband Jerry; her children: Dianne Bacorn and Amy Bacorn both of Loveland, CO, Barbara (Michael) Fisher of New Sharon, IA and Corey (Jennifer) Bacorn of Princeton; her brothers: Robert (Charlene) Ward, Roger (Joann) Ward of Caledonia and Tom (Nina) Ward of Monroe Center; her sister in law Colleen Ward of Alabama; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ernest Ward.

A gathering of friends and family will take place on Wednesday September 21, 2022 from 4-7 PM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Memorial services will follow at 7 PM.
