Jayden Lee Hanson

Jayden Lee Hanson, 14 of Tampico died Thursday March 28, 2024

He was born on August 31, 2009 in Sterling the son of Austin Hanson and Megan Mitchell. Jayden was in his freshman years at Prophetstown High School and was active in baseball and basketball. He had a great interest in farming and John Deere tractors and was a member of FFA. Jayden liked to ride four wheelers, fishing, going to county fairs, and spending time with his family and friends. He loved listening to country music and was able to attend his favorite band, Alabama in concert.

Survivors include his parents: Megan (Nels) Carlson and Austin Hanson; his brother Owen Doane, Nelson Carlson; his sister Kate Hanson and Audrah Bender; maternal grandparents, John and Christa Mitchell and Judy Werner;  paternal grandparents: Amber (Joe) Morris and Ronald Hanson; maternal great grandmother, Mildred Selmi; paternal great grandfathers: Eric Nelson and Wendell Hanson; aunts: Amanda (Renee Tuzak) Mitchell, Abby (Jake) Billings, Autum (Chad) Anderson; uncles: Nathan (Shelly) Hanson, Josh Stenros; cousins: Clara & Loretta Anderson, Bethanny, Jaxon, Maddy and Addy Hanson, Leland and Rowen Stenros; and many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by maternal great grandparents:, Ronald Mitchell, Eileen Mitchell, Jim Whites, Paul Selmi; great great grandparents Bruce and Helen Whites, John A. Mitchell; paternal great grandparents: Clara and George Tiemann, Shirley and Jerry Woodley; great great grandparents Clarence and Dorothy Whaley; and great uncle Tony Tiemann.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 3, 2024 from 4-7 PM at the Prophetstown Middle School. The funeral will follow on Thursday at 10 AM at the Prophetstown United Methodist Church with the Reverend Daniel Behmlander, pastor of Good Shepard Lutheran Church, Rock Falls officiating.  Burial will conclude at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown.  Online condolences at garlandfuneralhomes.com
