Jean A. Smith

Jean A. Smith, age 73, of Princeton, died Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Manor Court of Princeton.

          Jean was born December 17, 1950 in Princeton, the daughter of Loyal and Frances (Downey) Wallace. She graduated from Manlius High School and Sterling Beauty School.  Jean married Clifford A. Smith on April 25, 1987 in Van Orin.  He preceded her in death on September 12, 2021.  Jean is now dancing with her partner in heaven.  She was employed at the Van Orin Co-op for many years retiring in 2006.

          She is survived by six daughters, Shari (Bryan) Williams of Peru, Sarah (Dave) Shearer of Rock Falls, Becky (Jeremey) Mount of Malden, Mandy (Kevin) Pinske of Rock Falls, Patti Huffaker, and Jenna (Richy) Humphreys of Wyanet; one sister, Ann Sprowls of Sheffield; one brother, Thomas (Judy) Wallace of Port Byron; thirteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

          She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Rob Wallace; and one brother-in-law, Robert Sprowls.

          A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM – Noon at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.  A moment of prayer will take place at noon.

          In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
