JoAnn R. (VanDeVelde) Doty

TAMPICO – JoAnn R. Doty, age 92, died Monday, December 30, 2024 at OSF Saint Clare Hospital in Princeton.

            JoAnn was born on May 5, 1932 in Fairfield Township, Bureau County the daughter of Bernard and Emma (Pacquer) VanDeVelde.  She married Jerald W. "Judd" Doty on September 23, 1950 in Prophetstown.  JoAnn was a homemaker and worked at Frantz Manufacturing in Sterling.  She was an avid Pinochle player and loved to bake her specialty being Red Velvet cake. JoAnn was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tampico.

            Survivors include her husband, Judd of Tampico; one daughter, Pamela (Allen) Alsup of Warrensburg; one son, Randy (Lynn) Doty of Sugar Hill, GA; daughter-in-law, Connie Doty of Tampico; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mark Doty; three sisters; five brothers,

            Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at St Mary Catholic Church in Tampico.  Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM with Reverend Slowamir Zimodro officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tampico.

            In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to St. Mary Catholic Church and Tampico Volunteer Fire Department.
