John Edward Huseman, age 78 of Walnut, died Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Allure of Walnut.
John was born on June 3, 1947 in Princeton, Illinois, the son of Henry Melvin and Mary (Stout) Huseman. He graduated from Walnut High School. John married Martha Baughman on June 21, 1969 in Walnut. He worked at the former J & L Steel Mill, which then became LTV Steel, for 43 years. John enjoyed doing yard work, going golfing, and woodworking. He liked to relax at home and watch old westerns. John and the Huseman boys were instrumental in starting the local fishing club in Walnut, Happy Hookers.
Survivors include his wife, Martie of Walnut; two sons, David (Lisa) Huseman of Pekin and Tony Huseman of Rockford; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Logan; and two brothers, Glen (Darlene) Huseman of Walnut and Harold (Tami) Huseman of Walnut.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Huseman, Melvin Huseman, and Ellen Huseman; two children in infancy; and one brother, George Huseman.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Private funeral service will follow. Burial will conclude at Walnut Cemetery.
