Mendota, IL Josephine Barber, age 91, of Mendota, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Mendota Lutheran Home. Josephine was born March 9, 1925 in Koncanica, Yugoslavia the daughter of Frank and Anna (Hledik) Holubek. She married Frank Barber on December 15, 1946 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1986. She was employed at Sanofi Drug in Des Plaines for many years until her retirement. Josephine enjoyed cooking, baking and quilting. Survivors include one daughter, Judy (Greg) Foster of Wautoma, Wis.; one son, Gary (Kim) Barber of Mendota; two sisters, Emily Bayus of Port Perry, Ontario and Mary Vukman of Emerald, Saskatchewan; four grandchildren, Greg, Jr. (Kim) Foster of Kenosha, Wis., Dan (Michelle) Foster of Wales, Wis., Kate (Johnathan) Hagenbuch of Utica and Kari (Daniel) Lutter of Richfield, Wis.; ten great grandchildren; and her dear friend, Adele Svacina. She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Louis; and two sisters. A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
