TAMPICO - Joyce Fortune, age 87, died Friday, September 30, 2016 at Good Samaritan Prophets Riverview Nursing Home. Joyce was born on April 8, 1929 in Sterling the daughter of Jobert and Olive (Jester) Kinney. She married Donald Fortune on May 4, 1947 in Rock Falls. Joyce was employed as a Registered Nurse at CGH Hospital and several area nursing homes. She was an active member of the Advent Christian Church in Prophetstown. Joyce was loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Don Fortune of Tampico; one son, Thomas (Regi) Fortune of Tampico; two grandchildren, Christine (Michael) Terry of Tampico and Tommy Joe (Angela) Fortune of Chicago; two great grandchildren, Mikeila Sanders and Nicholas Terry. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 11:00 AM Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Advent Christian Church in Prophetstown. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM with Reverend Jim Jensen officiating. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial Cemetery, Tampico. Arrangements were completed with the Garland Funeral Home, Tampico. A memorial has been established to the church.
