WALNUT – Kevin L. Hufnagel, age 63 of Walnut, died Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Peru.

            Kevin was born February 14, 1963 in Kewanee to Jack and Carol (Nell) Hufnagel. He attended and graduated from Princeton High School in 1981. Kevin was a pressman for several area print shops and newspapers. He was an avid hunter, he loved fishing and hunting morel mushrooms and asparagus in the spring.

            He is survived by his sisters, Kathleen (Herb) Elliott of Princeton, and Karen Yarrington of Princeton; his brother, Leslie Hufnagel of Malden; nieces Nicole Elliott of Princeton, Katie Elliott of Bloomington, Karolyn Elliott of Princeton; nephew Tom Walton of Princeton; and his life partner, Julie Christensen of Walnut, who has several nieces and nephews who thought he was the best.

            He was preceded in death by his parents.

            Celebration of Life will take place from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Somewhere Else, 406 S. Main Street, Princeton. Memorials may be directed to the family, Tri County Humane Society, or the Walnut Fire Department. Arrangements were completed by the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.
