Obituary

TAMPICO – Leonard “Mike” Cook, age 74, died at his home Thursday, February 10, 2022. Leonard was born on July 18, 1947 in Carrollton the son of Leonard and Lois (Cummings) Cook. He was employed with Frantz Manufacturing, Wayne Dalton and Frantz Steel Ball for 43 years retiring in 2011. Leonard married Debra Johnson on April 7, 1987 in Reno, Nev. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting, fishing and camping. Leonard was also known for his “Knowledge Thumping” with the kids growing up. He is survived by his wife Debra Cook of Tampico; four sons, Tony (Amy) Cook of Tampico, Terry Cook, Shawn (Trisha) Noble of Oologah, Okla. and Ryan Maynard of Sterling; three sisters, Shanda Bonneville of Rock Falls, Brenda (Dennis) Andrews of Ore. and Sue (Tom) Jones of Rock Falls; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 AM Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM with Reverend Jim Jensen officiating. Burial will follow at Tampico Memorial Cemetery, Tampico. Online condolences may be sent to www.garlandfuneralhomes.com
