Leone W. Johnson, age 97, of Ohio, IL died Wednesday July 5, 2017 at the Heritage Health in Walnut. Leone was born on October 26, 1920 in Amboy, IL, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Garland) Morrissey. She was united in marriage to William H. Johnson on September 20, 1941. He preceded her in death on February 25, 1996. She was the cook/manager at Walton Grade School for many years. Leone enjoyed crocheting and was a great cook and baker. She is survived by one daughter Mary Clare (James) Spratt of Ohio, IL; two grandchildren Dr. Kimberly Serbe of Decatur, IL, Robert (Terri) Spratt of Aurora, IL; three great grandchildren Andy Serbe, Hannah Serbe, and Ivy Spratt. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters Eileen Dunphy and Laneita Montavon. Visitation will be held on Friday July 7, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Celebration of the Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ohio with Father Hugh Anderson and Father Thomas Shaw co-officating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Ohio. A memorial has been established to Immaculate Conception Church of Ohio, Ohio Fire Department and Gateway Services in lieu of flowers.
