Lois Mae Wolfe, 99 of Walnut died Thursday December 8, 2022 at Heritage Health.
Lois Mae was born on September 5, 1923 in Greenville Twp., near Walnut the daughter of Clifford Wellington and Ida Mae (Wolf) Larkin. She was a graduate of Walnut High School and Brown’s Business School in Sterling. She married Ralph Clark “Pat” Wolfe on July 14, 1946 in Walnut. He died March 3, 2006. Lois Mae had worked as a book keeper for 42 years at GBH Home Center, later Walnut Custom Homes. She was a member of Walnut United Methodist Church where she had sung in the choir for 60 years and had taught Sunday school. Lois Mae had been active in many community groups and organizations: the Cancer board in Princeton; past president of the Walnut Women’s Club; past president of the Women’s Society at the church; past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star’ a member of the In Home Care /VNA for 10 years; a member of the Bryant Club. She had enjoyed bowling, planting flowers and traveling. Lois Mae was happy to have both her sisters living close by.
Survivors include her sisters: Marjorie Peach and Erin Meyer both of Walnut; her niece Jill (Dave) Young and nephew Corby (Teresa) Meyer; three great nephews: Nick Meyer, Christian Meyer and Garett Shuck.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother in laws: Virden Peach and Dick Meyer.
Visitation will be held on Saturday December 17, 2022 from 12:30 – 1:30 PM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. The funeral will follow at 1:30 P.M. with the Reverend David Poust officiating. Burial will conclude at Walnut Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Walnut Fire Department and Ambulance or the Heritage Health of Walnut.
