Loretta M. Thompson

 Loretta M. Thompson, age 93, formerly of Walnut, Illinois died Sunday, September 13, 2015.

Loretta was born September 19, 1921 in Walnut, the daughter of Clarence and Gertrude (Lewis) Whitver. She was united in marriage to Erwin J. Thompson on August 21, 1941 in Del Ray, Florida. He preceded her in death in 2002. Loretta was a kind and loving mother and grandmother, who will be missed dearly by all.

She is survived by five children: Kay (Jimmy) White, Linda (James) Donnelly, James C. (Susan) Thompson, Peggy (John) Kintzele and John E. (Wendy) Thompson; 7 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one grandchild Tina (Teeney) White.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Walnut Cemetery at 1:00p.m., with Rev. Mark Harkness, pastor of the Walnut United Methodist Church, officiating. Cremation rites were accorded. The Garland Funeral Home in Walnut is in charge of the arrangements
