Mark M. Miller

Mark “Bear” M. Miller , 84, of Walnut, formerly of Carlinville, died on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at Allure of Walnut.

Mark was born December 29, 1940, in Patoka, the son of Charles and Elsie (McCullah) Miller. He was employed with the State of Illinois Highway Department for many years. A true history buff, Mark enjoyed collecting and selling antiques, and was an avid reader. He also enjoyed St. Louis Cardinal baseball, and even played softball well into his 60’s.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane Sims, of Walnut, and Hannah Miller, of Carlinville; two daughters-in-law, Cindy Miller, of Carlinville, and Susie Miller, of Bethalto; grandchildren, Steven Miller, Heather (Cory) Lathrom, Eric Miller, Daniel (Angie) Miller,  Christopher Miller, Bobbi Rettig (Nick Hall), and Jacob (Tori) Spears, Mick (Kristina) Adcock,  Don Adcock (Nicole Mullens), and Bec (Steve) Nettleton; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Robert and Thomas Miller; one brother; and five sisters.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
