Mary C. Johnson

Mary C. Johnson, age 82, formerly of Ohio, IL, and most recently of Bettendorf, IA, died comfortably on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA.

          Mary was born January 6, 1943 in Oak Park, IL, the daughter of Lawrence and Dolores (Bauman) Hart.  She married Douglas Johnson on May 14, 1966 in Chicago.  He preceded her in death on July 7, 1982.  Mary was employed at Wal-Mart in Princeton for more than 25 years and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio.

          She is survived by two daughters, Julie (Ricardo) Kamenetzky of Atlanta, GA and Becky (Tom) Peters of Bettendorf, IA; one son, Jamie Johnson of Ohio; nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

          She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

          Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – noon at the church, with a Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. noon with Reverend Thomas Shaw officiating.

          In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA.
