Walnut, IL Mary E. Conner, age 78, of Ohio, Illinois passed away Monday, July 13, 2015 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, Illinois, surrounded by her family.
Mary was born February 17, 1937 in Princeton, Illinois, the daughter of Dale and Kathleen (Walter) Doran. She was united in marriage to Jerome "Rip" Conner on January 18, 1958 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio. She worked for Scott Brothers Insurance for over 20 years as a customer service representative. Mary was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the OCCW.
She is survived by her husband, Jerome; two daughters: Colleen (Paul) Lehmann of Columbia, MO and Laura (Scott) Reuter of Walnut, IL, two sons: Jerry (Terri) Conner of Ohio, IL and Jim (Becky) Conner of Ohio, IL; ten grandchildren: Courtney (Matt) Forristall, Megan Lehmann, Mitchell (Amanda) Conner, Molly (Tyler) Surma, Katie (Mike) Melsheimer, Christian Lehmann, Shannon Reuter, Valerie Reuter, Paige Conner and Jay Conner; 5 great-grandchildren; five sisters: Joan Sisler of Dekalb, IL, Kay (Dave) Willey of Sterling, IL, Colleen (Bob) Bockel of Princeton, IL, Susan (Al) Stickelmaier and Ann Turpen of Chillicothe, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bill Doran; one brother- in law, Lewis Sisler; and one sister- in law, Judy Doran.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 17, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio, with Father Thomas Shaw, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery in Ohio. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m., with a rosary service at 3:30p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. A memorial has been established in her memory.
