Walnut, IL: Mary Susan "Pocius" Doty, age 66, died at home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, September 17, 2016, following an extended illness. Susan was born on May 27, 1950, in Mendota, IL, the daughter of Thomas P. and Elizabeth (Lonie) Lane. She married Terry Doty on December 25, 2007, in Peru, IL. Susan attended Western Illinois University in Macomb. She was employed with Walmart for over 20 years as a District Manager and Bealls Retail Store in Eustis, FL, for 5 years. Susan enjoyed spending time with her family. She had a lifelong love for horses. Other hobbies included gardening, sewing and crocheting. Susan was an active member of the Walnut Community Bible Church; she enjoyed reading, studying and living the word of God. Survivors include her husband, Terry Doty of Walnut, IL; children, Angela (Patrick) Spelman, Douglas Pocius, Peru, IL, and Christopher (Theresa) Pocius, Oglesby, IL; grandchildren Machenzie Ellis and Mannix Truckenbrod; siblings, Patty (Dennis) Flaherty, Paula (Don) Jones, Davenport, IA, Vincent "Ben" (Diana) Lane, Barefoot Bay, FL., Loretta (Edward) McConville, Greer, S.C., Mark (Teresa) Lane, Earlville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Craig Pocius, in infancy. Gathering of family and friends will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Walnut Community Bible Church, Walnut, IL. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Eldon Cook officiating. Arrangements were completed by the Garland Funeral Home, Walnut, IL. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
