Mary K. Kuhnert

Mary Kathleen Kuhnert was born March 21, 1944 in Walnut, Illinois.  She died on March 29, 2024 in Walnut, Illinois.

She was the daughter of Henry and Jane Kuhnert and sister to Henry (deceased) Kenneth (deceased), Dale (Linda-deceased), Ray (Carol), and Arlene Ellegood; and special Friend Virgil Johnson.  She is survived by cousins, (Renee Coy-special friend) nieces, nephews.

Mary graduated from Walnut Community High School and worked hard on the family farm; she served as custodian at the Red Oak Methodist Church; later moved to Walnut and was a visitor to many at the Walnut Manor. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 11:00 – Noon at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.  The funeral will follow at Noon with Pastor Kelly McCune of the Red Oak Church officiating.  Burial will be at Red Oak Cemetery in Walnut.

A memorial has been established to the Red Oak Cemetery Fund.
